Moped driver pronounced dead at the hospital
IMPD officers responded to a fatal crash between a moped and truck on Bacon Street at the Carson Avenue intersections Monday just after 6:30 p.m.
According to an official release, preliminary investigations suggest that the moped was traveling westbound on Bacon Street when it failed to yield to a stop sign. At that moment, a truck heading northbound on Carson Avenue collided with the moped.
Tragically, the driver of the moped was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.
In contrast, the driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities during their investigation into what led up to this devastating incident.
