Fatal Crash on NB I-75 in Miami County: Sandra Willis Killed

One person killed, one person injured
State troopers have identified the victim of a fatal crash involving a semitrailer on Interstate 75 in Miami County. The driver of the Dodge Charger, Sandra Willis, 42, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was killed when her vehicle was hit by an SUV and thrown off the road. Willis was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. She was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
The incident occurred early Thursday morning near the Miami/Montgomery County line. Two vehicles and a semi were involved in the crash that took place just after 6:10 a.m., according to Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatchers.
Lieutenant Dallas Root stated that "a commercial vehicle traveling northbound on I-75 veered off the west side of the roadway and collided with a concrete barrier." As a result of this initial collision, a Dodge Charger traveling behind the semi struck its rear as it attempted to come to a stop.
The impact caused the Dodge Charger to move from left lane into right lane where it was then hit by an SUV. The force ejected Willis from her vehicle resulting in her death.
Meanwhile, following their collision with the Charger, the driver of SUV lost control and crashed through a fence before hitting tree off-road. They were transported to hospital for treatment but no further details about their condition have been released yet.
Authorities are still working towards identifying any other potential factors contributing to this tragic accident while also determining whether any charges will be filed against those involved.
