Fatal Crash Near Helper Closes Down State Road 6

A fatal accident occurred early Tuesday morning near Helper, Utah, resulting in the closure of State Road 6. The incident took place at milepost 228 on SR-6 around 6:30 a.m. on June 13th when a passenger car traveling eastbound crossed over into the westbound lanes for an unknown reason, according to Utah Highway Patrol.
The passenger car collided head-on with a semi-truck that was traveling westbound in the same location. Unfortunately, UHP reported that the sole passenger of the passenger car died on-site while the driver of the semi-truck suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.
Troopers responded to investigate and clear up wreckage from SR-6 following which it remained closed for several hours. However, as per UDOT Traffic reports, SR-6 has been cleared now though drivers can still take alternate routes to avoid any inconvenience.
UDOT Traffic suggested drivers heading eastbound use Emma Park Road while those driving westbound should use US-191 instead.
