Kasia Richardson Killed in Fatal Crash on West Maple Road in Omaha

A fatal car crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Omaha, resulting in the death of a 38-year-old woman. According to investigators, the accident happened at around 2:46 p.m. when a 2016 Ford Fusion traveling eastbound on West Maple Road failed to yield while attempting to make a left turn onto Emmett Street.
Reports from Omaha police indicate that the Ford was hit by a westbound 2016 Chevy Suburban after it failed to yield. The driver of the Chevy told officers that he was speeding up to make the light, according to investigators. Both vehicles came to rest in the northwest corner of the intersection near 112th Street and West Maple Road.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as Kasia Richardson, who unfortunately did not survive despite being taken immediately for medical attention with CPR in progress at Bergan Mercy Hospital. Three other individuals were also injured and transported to University of Nebraska Medical Center with serious injuries.
Investigators have identified Laik Young as the driver of the Chevy involved in this tragic accident which is still under investigation. Prosecutors will determine if any charges will be filed against him.
