Jose Cortez Guzman Killed in Semi-Truck and Ford Ranger Crash in Sanger

The driver of the Ford Ranger died at the scene. The driver of the commercial big rig was uninjured.
The Fresno County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a fatal crash that occurred on June 7 outside Sanger, California. According to officials, 48-year-old Jose Cortez Guzman from San Joaquin was killed in the accident.
The crash involved a semi-truck and a Ford Ranger and took place around 10:30 am near Shields and Academy Avenues. The commercial truck was traveling northbound on Academy Avenue while the Ford Ranger was heading westbound on Shields Avenue.
Investigators have determined that the Ford Ranger failed to stop at the stop sign impacting the rear trailer of that big rig, causing it to overturn and catch fire. CHP officer Mike Salas described it as "a very horrific high-speed impact into that trailer."
Guzman died at the scene, while the driver of the commercial big rig escaped uninjured.
