One Dead, Multiple Injured in Three-Car Crash on Palisades Parkway

One person and a dog died, multiple others injured
State police have confirmed that one person and a dog have died in a three-car crash that occurred on the Palisades Parkway on Friday morning. The crash resulted in the closure of part of the parkway.
The victim has been identified as Cyrus Silverio, a 20-year-old resident of Hackensack, New Jersey. According to preliminary reports, Silverio was driving a 2001 black BMW southbound when two other cars, a 1992 BMW and a 2023 gray Nissan Rogue, collided for unknown reasons.
The extent of the injuries sustained by the other individuals involved in the crash is currently unknown. State police investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident or seen the three cars prior to the crash to come forward and assist with the investigation.
The crash occurred before 10 p.m. on Thursday night, leaving lanes closed until after 6 a.m. on Friday. The southbound lanes of the parkway were reopened at Exit 10 in New City about eight hours after the crash occurred at an overpass.
Footage from the scene showed a vehicle completely crushed on the side of the road at the North Middletown Road overpass. The cars were so severely damaged that crews had to use chainsaws to separate and remove them from the scene.
The crash caused significant traffic delays, with southbound traffic being diverted off the parkway and onto West Clarkstown Road as crews worked to clear the scene. State police have not yet released any further information regarding the cause of the crash or the condition of the injured individuals.
This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices and the need for caution on the roads.
