Man Dies in Fatal Crash Involving Stolen Dirt Bike and SUV in Goldsboro

A fatal accident occurred in Goldsboro, North Carolina on Sunday evening when a stolen dirt bike collided with an SUV. The incident took place at the intersection of East Elm Street and South Andrews Avenue shortly before 7:00 p.m.
According to Goldsboro police, Marquis Dawson, 29 years old, was riding the stolen dirt bike traveling eastbound on Elm Street. At the same time, an SUV was heading south on South Andrews Avenue. The intersection is equipped with a traffic signal.
Tragically, Dawson lost his life at the scene of the crash. The driver of the SUV sustained injuries and was transported to Wayne UNC Health Care for medical treatment.
Authorities have determined that the dirt bike had been reported stolen from Thomasville prior to this incident. As a result, their investigation into this fatal collision remains ongoing.
