One Man Dead, Several Injured in Overnight Crash on San Antonio's Northeast Side

One fatality, several injuries
In a tragic incident, one person has lost their life while several others sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash that occurred overnight on the Northeast Side of San Antonio. The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) responded to the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, located in the 12400 block of O'Connor Road.
According to investigators, the crash was initiated when a driver veered across the double yellow lines of the roadway and collided head-on with a truck. The impact caused another truck to roll over onto its right side.
Tragically, the first driver involved in the collision was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released any information regarding their identity. Two passengers who were also traveling in that vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck that was struck had minor injuries but was subjected to a sobriety test by SAPD officers. Despite being found intoxicated while driving, it was determined that he did not cause the accident. Consequently, he was arrested solely for driving under influence charges.
Fortunately, all three occupants inside the rolled-over truck emerged from this harrowing ordeal unscathed according to police reports.
This devastating crash serves as another reminder of how crucial it is for drivers to exercise caution and adhere strictly to traffic regulations while operating vehicles on our roads. SAPD continues its investigation into this incident and urges anyone with additional information related to this case to come forward and assist authorities in their efforts.
