Fairfield Woman Dies in Fatal Crash on I-95 in Westport

Police have reported a tragic accident that occurred early Monday morning on Interstate 95 (I-95) in Westport, resulting in the death of a Fairfield woman. According to Connecticut State Police, the incident involved a collision between a tractor-trailer and a Porsche Macan.
The authorities were alerted to the two-vehicle crash at approximately 12:28 a.m., which took place on the northbound lanes of I-95 just south of Exit 18. Upon arriving at the scene, troopers discovered that a 2019 Porsche Macan had rear-ended a Freightliner Cascadia from 2023. The Freightliner was towing a Kenworth tanker manufactured in 1998.
Preliminary investigations conducted by law enforcement revealed that traffic congestion caused the tractor-trailer to come to an abrupt stop in the right lane before being struck from behind by the Porsche. Tragically, Julia D. Clarke, aged 44 and identified as the driver of the Porsche Macan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that despite sustaining injuries during this devastating incident involving loss of life, there is no immediate threat to life for the driver operating the tractor-trailer.
