Fatal Crash in Tucson: Man Killed in Garbage Truck Accident

The Tucson Police Department has identified the man who tragically lost his life in a crash at Alvernon and Los Reales on Tuesday, September 26. According to TPD, the victim was 28-year-old Devin James Kilcoin, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports indicate that Kilcoin was a passenger in a garbage truck when the incident occurred. The driver of the garbage truck sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities have determined that the truck was traveling north on south Alvernon Way when it veered towards the shoulder before ultimately flipping over. The vehicle began swerving back and forth before rolling northbound.
Following the accident, detectives evaluated the driver's condition at the hospital and concluded that there were no signs of impairment at the time of the crash. However, investigations into this tragic event are still ongoing.
