Fatal Crash in West Fargo: 28-year-old Woman from Bemidji Killed

One fatality, one serious injury
A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night in West Fargo, resulting in the death of one person and leaving another seriously injured. The incident took place at the intersection of 9th Street E. and 19th Avenue E., just north of I-94.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a car was crossing the intersection when a van driven by Sabastijan Tahirovic, aged 30 from Fargo, ran a red light at an alarming speed. The van collided with the car on its driver's side, causing it to collide with an unattended pickup truck. As a result of the impact, the pickup truck ended up in the Blarney Stone parking lot while both other vehicles came to rest on the curb along 19th Avenue E.
Tragically, despite efforts made by emergency responders from both West Fargo Police and Fire departments who deployed life-saving measures immediately upon arrival at the scene, they were unable to save the life of a 28-year-old woman from Bemidji who was driving the car.
Tahirovic also sustained injuries as a result of this devastating crash but received treatment at a nearby hospital in Fargo. Fortunately for him though his injuries are serious; they are not considered life-threatening.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol has stated that charges against Tahirovic are pending as investigations into what caused this fatal collision continue.
At present time no further details have been released regarding what may have led to this tragic accident.
