Driver of Dump Truck Killed in Collision in Kent

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday in Kent, Washington, as the driver of a dump truck lost their life in a single-vehicle collision. The Washington State Patrol reported the unfortunate news.

Trooper Rick Johnson shared an update on Twitter, stating that the accident took place on northbound State Route 167 to SR 516. He also mentioned that the ramp would remain blocked for an extended period of time. A photo attached to his tweet showed emergency vehicles at the scene.

As a result of the collision, the Northbound State Route 167 on-ramp from State Route 516 had to be fully closed. Additionally, debris and soil spilled from the truck led to blockage of the right two lanes on northbound SR 167 at SR 516.

Emergency crews swiftly arrived at the scene and began working diligently. However, as of 2:30 p.m., there was no estimated time for when normal traffic flow could resume.

Motorists traveling through this area should anticipate delays due to ongoing road closures and reduced lanes caused by this tragic incident.
