Police Investigate Fatal Head-On Crash in Brandon
Police in Brandon are investigating a fatal head-on crash that occurred on Grove Street/Route 7, just south of Lovers Lane. The accident happened last night at around 8:00 p.m., and involved a full-size tractor-trailer log truck and a pickup truck.
According to the report, when police arrived at the scene, they found the overturned tractor-trailer on top of the pickup truck in an embankment. Live wires were also brought down as a result of the crash.
The driver of the log truck was able to get out, but unfortunately, the driver of the pickup truck was trapped and died due to her injuries. Police have not yet released any names or further details about those involved.
Emergency services including Brandon Fire Department, Brandon Area Rescue, and Green Mountain Power responded to assist with shutting down Grove Street/Route 7 and disconnecting power from fallen wires.
At this time, police are still working to determine how exactly this tragic accident occurred.
