Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Southeast Portland Leaves Driver Dead and Passenger Injured

One Person Dead, Another Seriously Injured in Portland Crash
Early Sunday morning, a two-vehicle crash occurred in the southeast Portland Hazelwood neighborhood resulting in one person dead and another seriously injured. The incident happened at around 1 a.m. when police responded to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck at Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 139th Avenue.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, upon arriving at the scene, they found that the driver of the motorcycle had died while his passenger was severely injured. The passenger was immediately taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Eyewitnesses who live nearby reported hearing loud noises that sounded like metal being crushed during the accident.
The driver of the pickup truck remained on-site after the crash and is cooperating with authorities. Fortunately, no one inside the truck sustained any injuries.
As part of their investigation into what caused this fatal accident, police closed off all directions leading to Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 139th Avenue for several hours.
