Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on 605 Freeway in Lakewood

One person killed, another with major injuries
A tragic multi-vehicle crash occurred on Sunday night, resulting in the death of one person and leaving another with major injuries. The incident took place along the southbound lanes of the 605 Freeway at Carson Street in Lakewood.
The collision involved at least seven vehicles and happened shortly after 8 p.m. Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene to provide assistance to those involved. Unfortunately, one individual lost their life as a result of the accident, while another was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of their severe injuries. At this time, neither victim has been identified.
Following the crash, all southbound lanes except for the far right lane were closed off as authorities conducted an investigation into what caused this devastating incident. By Monday morning, however, all lanes had been reopened for normal traffic flow.
As of now, it remains unclear what led to this fatal collision or whether anyone has been taken into custody related to the incident. Law enforcement officials are actively working on determining these details through their ongoing investigation.
