One Person Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Shawnee Mission

The driver of one of the involved vehicles sustained fatal injuries and the passenger of that vehicle was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The other drivers were uninjured.
On Sunday evening, a multi-vehicle crash in Shawnee Mission resulted in the death of one person. At 4:31 p.m., the Shawnee Police Department received a report of a collision at Blackfish Parkway and Lackman Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that multiple vehicles were involved and began administering first aid procedures to some of the occupants. Unfortunately, one driver sustained fatal injuries while their passenger was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The other drivers involved were uninjured.
As of now, the intersection remains closed while authorities investigate the incident. The Shawnee Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is leading this investigation and will provide additional information when available.
