Driver of Pontiac Grand Prix Pronounced Dead in Multiple Car Crash on I-80 near Gibbon

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 were closed near Gibbon due to a multiple car crash that occurred on Sunday. The Nebraska Department of Transportation reported the incident and warned drivers about the closure.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, a Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling in the westbound lanes when it crossed over the median into the eastbound lanes and collided with a semi-truck. Unfortunately, the driver of the Pontiac did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene. However, no injuries were reported for those in the semi-truck.
As a result of this accident, emergency vehicles blocked all traffic except for emergency vehicles from Exit 285 to Exit 291. The road remained closed for approximately five hours while authorities worked to clear up debris from both vehicles involved in this collision.
