Vincent Hakizuwera Killed in Rollover Crash in Parley's Canyon

A man from Texas was killed in a rollover crash on Monday, June 19th, while driving a Freightliner semi-tractor with an attached trailer up Parley's Canyon. The Utah Department of Public Safety reported that Vincent Hakizuwera, 29, "failed to negotiate the curve" and lost control of the vehicle while driving westbound on I-80 at Lambs Canyon. The semi-truck rolled onto its side and slid down the road to the right before coming to rest blocking multiple right lanes facing east.
Hakizuwera was partially ejected from the vehicle and died in the crash. All westbound lanes were closed at Lambs Canyon while traffic was diverted eastbound. Lane one reopened three hours after the accident around 12:30 AM according to DPS officials.
