Fatal Semi Rollover Crash on I-80 at I-74 Interchange in Davenport

The driver of the semi died. The passenger car received disabling damage and the vehicle’s driver sustained minor injuries.
Several law enforcement agencies are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Friday at around 3:08 a.m. on the I-80 at I-74 Interchange in Davenport, Iowa. According to the Davenport Police Department, the accident involved a semi-truck with a livestock trailer that lost control on the exit ramp and rolled over on its side, releasing approximately 40 head of cattle.
The driver of the semi-truck, an adult male, died as a result of the accident. Shortly after this incident, two other crashes occurred in the same area involving another semi-truck and a passenger car hitting two cows that had escaped from the overturned trailer.
While only minor injuries were sustained in these subsequent accidents by one driver and disabling damage to their vehicle; police say they are working with several organizations including Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Bettendorf Police Department, Scott County Secondary Roads, Fred’s Towing and Iowa Department of Transportation to wrangle up any loose cattle.
As per reports from authorities present at the scene; "I-80 Westbound was closed for around two and half hours Friday morning". The off-ramp from I-80 Westbound to I-74 Eastbound is still closed at this time. Drivers have been advised by police officials to avoid this area if possible until further notice.
