Driver Zacharie Lecuyer Dies in Fatal Single Car Crash in Colonie

Driver succumbed to injuries at the scene
Police are investigating a fatal single-car crash that occurred on Sunday morning in Colonie, resulting in the death of the driver. The incident happened after the vehicle veered off New Loudon Road near Boght Road.
According to reports, several calls were made to the police about the accident at 3:08 a.m. on June 11th. The car, a 2022 Subaru, was heading south on New Loudon Road when it crossed over into the median lane and through northbound lanes before coming to rest in a yard at 1121 New Loudon Road.
The driver has been identified as Zacharie Lecuyer, aged 36 from Altamont. Despite efforts by Colonie EMS who responded promptly to the scene of the accident, Lecuyer succumbed to his injuries and died at the site.
The car hit several objects before stopping including street signs, driveway embankments and trees causing damage to property along its path. Boght Fire Department put out a fire caused by this collision while assisting police with closing down traffic between Boght Road and Old Loudon Road for three hours until around 8:25 am when all lanes were reopened gradually.
