Fatal Single Vehicle Accident in Rural East Dubuque Leaves One Dead

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jo Daviess County Coroner.
A man has died in a single-vehicle accident that occurred early this morning in rural East Dubuque. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff's deputies received a call at around 3:45 am about the incident on Highway 20 westbound, just east of N. Imbus Lane.
Upon arriving at the scene, they found an ejected man lying near the vehicle who was later pronounced dead by the Jo Daviess County Coroner. After conducting an investigation, it was revealed that the vehicle was travelling westbound on Highway 20 when the driver lost control, left the highway, hit a tree and came to rest in the ditch.
The identity of the driver has not been disclosed yet as authorities are still notifying his family members. Meanwhile, investigations into what caused him to lose control of his car continue.
