John Goode Killed in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Batchelor, Louisiana

Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in Pointe Coupee Parish. The victim has been identified as John Goode, 64, of Batchelor. According to LSP, the accident happened at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, June 1st on LA 417 west of LA 418.
Goode was driving his Ford F-350 northbound on LA 418 when he exited the roadway near the intersection of LA 418 and LA 417 for reasons still being investigated by state police. He then struck an embankment before coming to a stop.
Unfortunately, Goode suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by officials who arrived shortly after receiving reports about the incident. It is worth noting that he wasn't wearing his seat belt during the time of impact.
Officials have stated that they do not know yet if Goode was impaired but have obtained routine toxicology samples for analysis purposes as part of their ongoing investigation into this tragic event.
