77-year-old woman from Port Charlotte dies in Middleburg crash

A fatal three-vehicle crash occurred in Middleburg, Florida on Wednesday afternoon. The incident happened around 12:20 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A brown Chrysler van was traveling north on State Road 21 when it veered into the left lane and collided with a stopped gray Mazda sports utility vehicle. The van then continued moving until it hit the rear end of a stationary semi-truck trailer.
The driver of the van, identified as a 77-year-old woman from Port Charlotte, did not survive the accident despite wearing her seatbelt at the time of impact. The FHP has released an incident report detailing what happened during this tragic event.
