Fatal Traffic Accident in Waynesboro, Georgia

One fatality
One person tragically lost their life in a traffic accident on Wednesday morning in Burke County, Georgia. The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m. on U.S. 25 at Hadden Pond Road, just north of Waynesboro.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the accident involved a Cadillac Brougham that was traveling northbound on U.S. 25. The Cadillac collided with the side of an 18-wheeler that had come to a stop across both lanes of the northbound road.
Tragically, the driver of the Cadillac sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. At this time, authorities have not yet notified next of kin regarding this devastating loss.
Upon receiving reports about the accident, GSP dispatched a team to investigate and gather information at the scene early Wednesday morning. As part of their investigation process, they closed down northbound U.S. 25 for safety reasons.
As of 10:00 a.m., several hours after the accident occurred, northbound U.S. 25 remained closed while authorities continued their investigation into what led to this tragic incident.
