80-year-old Man Killed in Rusk County Truck vs. Road Grader Crash

One person dead, one person injured
On Monday, a tragic accident occurred on State Highway 40, a quarter mile north of Highway 8 in Rusk County. According to the media release from the Rusk County Sheriff's Office, at around 9:00 a.m., authorities received reports of a motor vehicle crash with injuries.
The accident involved a pickup truck that had rear-ended a Rusk County Highway Department grader. The passenger in the truck, an 80-year-old man from Bruce, Wis., was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the truck, identified as a 73-year-old woman also from Bruce, Wis., was flown to hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, no harm came to the grader operator who was not reported injured during this incident.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is currently investigating this fatal crash which has left one person dead and another injured. Other agencies involved include Bruce Fire Department, Weyerhaeuser Fire Department,Rusk County Medical Examiners Office,Rusk County Ambulance Service,Lakeview Medical Center Ambulance Service,Lifelink III and Mayo 1 air Ambulances.
