At least one person has been reported dead in a fatal two-car accident that occurred on Saturday night, as per the California Highway Patrol incident log. The accident took place around 10:20 p.m. on southbound Interstate 805 at Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista.
The CHP is reporting that both vehicles flipped over during the crash and it resulted in a fatality. Video footage from OnScene TV showed that one of the cars involved hit a light pole after going up an embankment.
As per reports, one woman was pronounced dead at the scene while another was taken to a hospital for medical attention. Further details about their identities or current condition have not yet been released by authorities.
