At least one person has died following a violent two-car crash in Pomona on Sunday night, according to authorities. The Los Angeles County Fire Department received calls about the incident near the intersection of East Bonita Avenue and North Garey Avenue just before 9 p.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters discovered two people trapped inside one of the vehicles and requested additional ambulances. At least one person was taken to hospital for treatment.
Both cars sustained severe damage in the collision, with one vehicle overturned. Details regarding what led up to this accident are currently limited.
Motorists are being advised to avoid this area until further notice. It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in causing this fatal crash.
