Robert Earl Baker Jr. Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash in Baldwin County

A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on Sunday morning in Baldwin County, Alabama. The accident took the life of 22-year-old Robert Earl Baker Jr., a resident of Robertsdale. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the incident happened at around 10:10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 98 near the 74 mile marker, which is three miles east of Elberta city limits.
Baker was riding as a passenger in a 2015 Dodge Dart driven by Carlton Craig Hensell, aged 59 and from Elberta. The vehicle collided with an Infiniti G37 that was being driven by a parent accompanied by their teenage child.
Unfortunately, Baker did not have his seat belt fastened when the collision occurred, according to ALEA reports. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment but later passed away due to his injuries.
Hensell also suffered injuries during the accident and received medical attention at a nearby hospital.
The cause of this tragic incident remains under investigation by ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division.
