Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 7 in Washington County

One fatality, one person seriously injured
One person has tragically lost their life in a devastating two-vehicle crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon along State Route 7 in Washington County. The incident involved a 2010 Ford Taurus, driven by Austin G. McConaha, aged 27 and hailing from Waterford, Ohio, as well as a 2012 Kenworth T8 semi driven by Gregory S. Lawrentz, aged 57 and from Washington, West Virginia.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Marietta Post, Lawrentz had slowed down while attempting to make a right turn onto Veto Road when McConaha collided with the rear of his vehicle. Tragically, McConaha was pronounced dead after being transported to Camden Clark Medical Center.
Lawrentz sustained minor injuries and was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment. Authorities have stated that alcohol and drugs are not believed to be contributing factors in this tragic accident.
It has been reported that McConaha was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
