Fatal Vehicular Collision in Albion, Iowa Leaves One Dead and Two Injured

One person dead, two injured
A fatal vehicular collision occurred in rural Marshall County, Iowa on Saturday. One person was killed and two others were injured in the crash that took place at around 11:16 a.m.
The Iowa State Patrol responded to the incident after receiving reports of a collision along Iowa Highway 330 south of its intersection with Oak Street in Marietta Township. Troopers believe that a 2016 Dodge Caravan traveling southbound collided with a John Deere tractor operated by Clarence Borton, an 86-year-old resident of Albion who had entered the roadway from a private driveway.
As a result of the collision, the tractor overturned and fell into the ditch on the west side of the road. Borton suffered injuries due to falling off his vehicle during impact which led to his death at the scene. Meanwhile, two individuals inside the van sustained injuries and were transported via ambulance to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown Hospital for treatment.
Emergency response teams from various local agencies including The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office participated in managing this tragic event. Further details about this accident are yet to be released by authorities involved in investigating it.
