Fatal Wreck in Felton, Delaware: Justin Zacheis Killed

Delaware State Police have identified the victim of a fatal wreck that occurred on Wednesday morning as 44-year-old Justin Zacheis. The incident took place near Felton when a truck's trailer entered Zacheis's lane, causing his vehicle to become lodged underneath it. Tragically, Zacheis died at the scene.
Authorities received reports of the accident just after 7:30 a.m. and promptly dispatched troopers to the intersection of Burnite Mill Road and Sandtown Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Zacheis's Ford pickup truck along with the tractor-trailer in a nearby soybean field.
According to state police, preliminary investigations suggest that while turning from Sandtown Road onto Burnite Mill Road, the driver of the tractor-trailer inadvertently crossed into Zacheis's path. Despite attempting to swerve and avoid collision, Zacheis was unable to prevent his vehicle from getting trapped beneath the trailer. As a result, both vehicles veered off-road.
Fortunately, the driver of the tractor-trailer emerged unharmed from this tragic incident. However, due to ongoing investigations by law enforcement officials, troopers closed down the affected road for approximately five hours.
