Woman and Child Killed in Fatal Wrong-Way Crash in Van Nuys

Two fatalities, four hospitalized
A tragic wrong-way crash in Van Nuys, Los Angeles has claimed the lives of a woman and a 5-year-old boy. The incident occurred on Thursday night in the 6400 block of Woodley Avenue, near Victory Boulevard, around 9:30 p.m., as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
According to authorities, the driver of a white Honda Accord veered into the southbound lanes and collided with a gray Honda Civic. Both vehicles sustained severe damage as a result of the impact.
Tragically, a 60-year-old woman who was inside the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, the 5-year-old boy from that car succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Four other victims between the ages of 21 and 30 were also injured in this devastating accident and are currently hospitalized in "at least" serious condition according to LAFD.
At this time, it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in causing this fatal crash. Authorities will continue their investigation to determine all factors contributing to this tragedy.
