FedEx truck driver injured in Manchester accident

Interstate 84 West in Manchester has fully reopened after a FedEx tractor-trailer overturned on the highway Friday night.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation said the right lane of I-84 West remained closed between exits 60 and 61 on Saturday morning. It has since fully reopened.
According to authorities, the accident occurred when a Volkswagen veered into the center lane and hit the FedEx tractor-trailer around 9:15 p.m. on Friday. The impact caused the driver of the FedEx tractor-trailer to lose control, cross the right lane, hit the concrete barrier, and then roll over.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The other driver was not injured.
State police have determined that the driver of the Volkswagen was at fault for the accident and was issued an infraction for failure to maintain lane, operating an unregistered vehicle, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
The incident caused significant traffic delays and prompted the closure of the right lane of I-84 West. However, the Connecticut Department of Transportation worked to clear the scene and fully reopen the highway as soon as possible.
