Fiery Crash on I-94 in Jackson County Leaves One Dead

A tragic accident occurred on Friday morning, resulting in the death of one individual after a fiery crash on I-94. The incident forced the closure of eastbound I-94 between Parma Road and Dearing Road.*
According to authorities at the scene, a 24-year-old man from Decatur was traveling eastbound on I-94 within a construction zone when his vehicle collided with a tanker truck that had broken down in the middle of the road. The truck had its safety equipment and signals deployed.
Tragically, the young driver suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision and died at the scene. Fortunately, no other individuals were present inside his vehicle during this unfortunate event.
Authorities have indicated that they expect to reopen the affected section of roadway by approximately 12:30 p.m., allowing traffic to resume normal flow.
