Payton Sturts dies in fiery crash on I-71 near Ohio 39

The driver sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
A 19-year-old man from Mansfield died in a one-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon. The accident happened on Interstate 71 near Ohio 39, and the victim was identified as Payton Sturts, who was driving a commercial dump truck at the time of the incident. According to Richland County coroner's investigator Bob Ball, the deceased has been identified as Payton Sturts, and the body will be taken for autopsy.
The crash occurred around 12:40 p.m., when a suspected front tire blowout caused the Mack dump truck hauling gravel to go off the right side of the road and hit a guardrail before overturning and going down an embankment. The vehicle caught fire upon impact, resulting in fatal injuries for Sturts.
As of late evening that day all lanes were open again but investigations are still ongoing regarding this tragic event.
