One Person Injured in Fiery Crash on Tri-State Tollway near O'Hare Airport

Illinois State Police reported that a fiery crash occurred on the Tri-State Tollway near O'Hare airport, resulting in one person being injured. The incident took place on Saturday morning.
According to authorities, troopers were called to the scene just before 11:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a one-car crash on southbound Interstate 294 at River Road. Upon arrival, they discovered that the vehicle had crossed onto the left shoulder while traveling in the left lane. It then collided with the center median wall and subsequently caught fire.
The reasons behind this sudden deviation from its intended path remain unknown at this time. However, police are actively investigating what may have caused the driver to lose control of their vehicle.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames engulfing the car. They also provided medical attention to an individual who sustained injuries as a result of this harrowing incident. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed thus far.
