Multiple Casualties Reported in Fiery Pileup on Highway 67 Near Cash

Arkansas State Police have confirmed "multiple casualties" following a devastating multi-vehicle pileup on U.S. Highway 67 near Cash. The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon and resulted in the closure of northbound lanes near the 226 interchange.
According to Cindy Murphy, communications director for Arkansas State Police, as many as 15 vehicles were involved in the crash, including four commercial vehicles and eleven passenger cars. Traffic was diverted near the 95-mile marker due to the severity of the incident.
The southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 67 have since reopened; however, as of 5 p.m., ARDOT reported that the northbound lanes remained closed.
A field fire with thick smoke caused low visibility along the highway, leading to the initial collision. The exact number of injuries sustained by individuals involved in this tragic event has not yet been released by ASP.
In response to this catastrophic accident, several helicopters rushed to provide assistance at the scene.
While two fatalities have been confirmed so far, authorities are still assessing and gathering information about other potential injuries resulting from this horrific incident.
