Firetruck Flips After Collision with Car on South Side of Chicago

A Chicago Fire Department firetruck was involved in a collision with a car on the South Side Tuesday night, resulting in the firetruck flipping onto its side. The incident took place at approximately 11:25 p.m. in the 300-block of East 79th Street, according to police.
Authorities reported that a vehicle disregarded a red light and crashed into the firetruck, causing it to overturn. Fortunately, five firefighters who were onboard sustained only minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals in good condition. Additionally, the driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Police have stated that traffic citations will be issued to the driver of the car responsible for running the red light. At this time, no further details regarding the incident are available.
