Four Dead in Solo-Vehicle Crash on 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles

A tragic accident on the southbound 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles resulted in the death of four people late Thursday night. The crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. near the Slauson Avenue offramp when a driver lost control of their vehicle.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Roberto Gomez, the driver of a four-door Infinity sedan just missed the Slauson offramp before spinning out of control and hitting a sound wall. The car then caught fire, prompting firefighters to extinguish it.
Upon inspection, first responders discovered that there were four individuals inside the vehicle who had all passed away at the scene. While authorities believe that the driver was between 20 and 30 years old, they could not confirm ages for any other occupants but noted that they're younger in age.
While witnesses have suggested that street racing may have been involved, CHP investigators have yet to confirm this information. However, speed is believed to be a factor in what happened.
All lanes on the freeway had reopened as of Friday morning at approximately 5:15 a.m., following an investigation into what caused this fatal accident.
