Four Hospitalized After Car Crash on State Route 74 near Peoria
On Sunday afternoon, a car crash occurred on State Route 74 near the Bypass Road close to Lake Pleasant in Peoria. The accident resulted in four people being hospitalized with one person having serious to life-threatening injuries.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers and Peoria Police were called around 4 p.m. to attend the two-vehicle collision. According to DPS officials, an individual from one of the vehicles attempted to flee from the scene but was quickly apprehended.
Detectives investigating the incident believe that impairment may have been a factor contributing to the crash. As crews work towards clearing up and continuing their investigation, State Route 74 will remain closed in both directions until further notice.
