According to California Highway Patrol, a car veered off an I-680 on-ramp and crashed into a homeless encampment in San Jose on Saturday night. The incident resulted in four people being taken to the hospital with minor injuries, including the driver and three individuals from the camp. Pictures of the crash were shared by the San Jose Fire Department on social media, showing a car inside one of the tents.
The East Capitol Expressway on-ramp leading to I-680S has been closed due to this accident, causing heavy delays in surrounding areas. Police are investigating whether alcohol played a role in this crash.
