Fulton High School Student Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Granby

A high school student from Fulton was killed in a two-vehicle crash that also injured another student on Sunday night, according to school officials. The incident occurred at around 5:35 p.m. on state Route 48 near Chesbro Drive in the town of Granby, as confirmed by the Oswego County 911 Center.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the fatal crash. Responders from the state police, Fulton city police, Menter Ambulance, and Cody, Granby Center, Phoenix, and Hannibal volunteer fire departments were present at the scene. Route 48 was closed from Wilcox to Wybron roads in Granby until 9:28 p.m., as reported by 911 dispatchers.
Fulton City School Superintendent Brian Pulvino sent a message to the community hours after the crash, expressing his condolences and informing them of the tragic incident. “At this time, law enforcement officials have reported that one of our high school students died in this accident and one other high school student was injured,” he wrote.
Pulvino also assured the community that the district will have counselors and other support systems available for students and staff this week at G. Ray Bodley High School. “It is a devastating time for our community,” he said. “It shows you the value of each and every day. My heart goes out to our families and students.”
The superintendent encouraged parents to contact the school if they feel their child is in need of additional support as they process the news. “This tragedy will have a profound impact on our entire community,” he said.
The identity of the deceased student has not been released yet. Further updates on the incident are yet to be announced.
