Garbage Truck Crash Closes Section of Road in Luzerne County

A section of road in Luzerne County was temporarily closed on Tuesday morning due to a crash involving a garbage truck. The incident took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the westbound lane of I-80, between the Conyngham/Nescopeck and Mainville/Mifflinville exits.
Initially, the crash resulted in the complete closure of the westbound lane. However, authorities were able to reopen one lane for traffic flow by around 7:45 a.m. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries as a result of this accident.
According to PennDOT officials, it is anticipated that I-80 will fully reopen by approximately 1:00 p.m., allowing normal traffic conditions to resume.
