Driver had potentially serious injuries

A 56-year-old man from Dighton is currently hospitalized in Wichita following a grain truck accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place approximately three-and-a-half miles south of Healy, in Lane County, at around 4 p.m.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the crash transpired when a 1987 L3000 grain truck was traveling south on Dodge Road and experienced a blowout in its right rear tire. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a bridge rail before rolling off the bridge towards the east. Eventually, it came to rest facing south next to the bridge.

The KHP has reported that the driver sustained potentially serious injuries as a result of this unfortunate event. Currently, he is receiving medical treatment at Wesley Medical Center located in Wichita.
