Gurley Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 431

One fatality, one injury
A tragic multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 431 in Huntsville, Alabama claimed the life of a Gurley man on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. near Dug Hill Rd.
According to Alabama Law Enforcement, Michael Whitt, aged 45, lost his life when his vehicle collided with another vehicle. The collision resulted in fatal injuries for Whitt.
In addition to Whitt, one other person sustained injuries in the crash and was promptly transported to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Services for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, authorities were forced to shut down a section of U.S. 431 from Monte Sano Blvd. to Cove Creek Drive for an extended period while they conducted their investigation into the incident.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division has taken charge of leading this investigation as they work diligently to determine what caused this devastating crash.
