26-year-old Woman from Bonifay Dies in Head-on Collision

One Dead and Two Injured in Head-On Collision in Holmes County, Florida
According to a news release by the Florida Highway Patrol, one woman died and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred on County Road 173, south of Budfield Road around 4:30 p.m.
The report states that a 2019 Honda CRV was rolled onto its driver's side on the southbound shoulder while a 2017 Nissan Sentra was found in the ditch of the northbound shoulder. The driver of the Sentra, identified as a 26-year-old woman from Bonifay, unfortunately succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the CRV was identified as a 16-year-old boy from Bonifay who sustained serious injuries. He, along with a four-year-old girl passenger who was riding inside the Sentra, were transported to hospital for treatment.
Authorities are still investigating what caused this fatal crash.
