Head-on Collision Leaves One Dead in Grand Junction

One person dead, the other taken to the hospital
In the early hours of Friday morning, a head-on collision occurred between an SUV and a sedan on the Westbound lane of I-70, between Grand Junction and Fruita. According to reports, the accident resulted in one fatality.
The scene reported that the Sedan burst into flames leaving one person dead on the scene, and the other person was taken to hospital.
As of Friday morning, authorities have closed off the Westbound lane while they investigate further. The Fruita Police Department is leading this investigation.
