Police Launch Search for Hit-and-Run Driver in Fatal Crenshaw Crash

Authorities are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver involved in a tragic incident that resulted in the death of an elderly man and left another man hospitalized. The incident occurred on Thursday night in the Crenshaw neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

According to reports, the crash took place around 9:30 p.m. on Santa Rosalia Drive, near the 4200 block. A witness who was driving down the street at the time noticed two individuals lying injured on the roadway and immediately called for help.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene and transported both victims to nearby hospitals. Tragically, one of them, identified as an 85-year-old male by authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, a 41-year-old male, is currently listed in stable condition.

The LAPD has described the suspect vehicle as dark-colored but unknown make or model. It was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck both victims before fleeing from the scene.
