5-Year-Old Girl Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in South Los Angeles

A tragic hit-and-run accident in South Los Angeles has resulted in the death of a 5-year-old girl and left a 17-year-old girl in critical condition. The incident occurred at around 7:45 p.m. on Main Street and Colden Avenue, involving a family of four.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, "the victims were identified as a 32-year-old mother, her two children - a 5-year-old and a 14-year-old - and her 17-year-old niece." Security footage captured the moment when Pedro Murillo, aged 26, ran through a red light while speeding down the road before crashing into the victim's car.
The impact caused severe damage to their vehicle as nearby witnesses rushed over to help. All victims were immediately taken to hospital for treatment. Sadly, on June 22nd, authorities confirmed that the five-year-old had died from her injuries while being admitted to pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Meanwhile, her older sister remains in critical condition.
On June 21st, Pedro Murillo surrendered himself to police after fleeing from the scene of crime earlier. He was arrested on felony charges of hit-and-run with injury; an arraignment hearing is scheduled for Friday.
Detectives are now asking for public assistance regarding any information about Murillo's whereabouts or activity prior to this fatal crash.
