Jaxon Leasure Killed in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash on Gallatin Pike

Leasure was thrown from the motorcycle and died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Crash investigators are currently searching for the driver of a dark-colored SUV that hit and killed a motorcyclist on Gallatin Pike at Old Hickory Boulevard last Thursday night. According to preliminary investigations, Jaxon Leasure, 17, was traveling south on his Kawasaki Ninja in the center turn lane when a dark GMC SUV pulled out from 105 Gallatin Pike North and collided with him. The impact caused Leasure to be thrown off his motorcycle and hit a sign.
Reports suggest that the driver of the dark-colored SUV initially stopped but left before officers arrived at the scene. Leasure was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died due to injuries sustained during the crash.
Toxicology tests will be conducted to determine if impairment played any role in causing this fatal accident. Meanwhile, authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or those involved in it to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
